what's with the box?
Coffee bags are pretty great, but they mostly end up in landfill. We decided that we needed to be better with this, and came up with something that's a bit of a revolution, something that the world has never seen before...a box.
Jokes aside, this box is what we feel to be a step on the path toward being more considered about our environmental impact. Made from 100% recycled stock, water soluble glue and inks, this bad boy can - once its contents have been thoroughly enjoyed - go straight into your recycling bin. You don't need to fuss with tin ties or valves or stickers or do anything at all. It doesn't need a special facility, or 18 months to sort-of break down. It will be pulped and turned into more paper, and possibly another box for you to get more coffee in. It's innovation, with purpose.
Your little coffee bean friends are still protected enough for their journey to you, you just have to either drink them, or put them somewhere air tight if you want to keep it a little longer than ten days after roast. Oh, and we built a pouring spout into the box to make it easier for you to get the beans into your grinder, brewing device or straight into your mouth. You do you boo, we won’t judge.
Yeah that's cool and all, but what's with the shape of it? The simple answer is that like us, it's a bit weird, a bit a-cute (get it?), and a bit wonderful. Plus we seem to be allergic to doing things the standard way, so we made something that's a little more special. We think it's pretty neat, and we hope you do too!

B.N.E. aka Big Nerd Energy.
Michael is Core’s main human bean - with over a decade of experience in Melbourne’s coffee scene - and our director of finding green things and turning them brown. He seriously loves coffee - drinking coffee, roasting coffee, talking to (at) someone about coffee, or thinking about coffee. Seriously. It’s a bit much. Also smells like coffee most of the time. Coffee.
Michael's wardrobe is made up of seven of the exact same outfits, he is at least 5/6ths beard, and is constantly stashing (finding) snacks for later in his face.
You really can’t take him anywhere.

OFFICER
Overly enthusastic dog parent; overly enthusiastic everything else too.
Dani is a long time (like, really long time) Music Educator, and now, Core’s Chief Creative Officer.
A lover and executor of all things illustrated, designed and made, she is also a triple threat. Dani:
1) is a people pleaser,
2) has a can-do attitude; and
3) really likes both eating & making snacks.
She would also very much welcome a hat with all the above written on it.

Meet our CEO (Chief Entertainment Officer) and Director of Parks & Recreation, Albus Dumbledog. He’s here for a good time - and if you have a treat for him - a long time too.
Equally as wise as he is beard, Albus is super friendly, and will probably help you steal the TV if you offer to take him to the park and throw the ball for him for the rest of eternity.
